Aguinaldo Shrine and Museum

The Philippine revolutionary forces led by Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo declared independence from the Spanish rule on the balcony of his home in Kawit, Cavite. The event transpired on June 12, 1898 way before commercial spaces for rent crowded Cavite.

Shortly after Aguinaldo died, his home was declared a national shrine in June 1964. Behind the Aguinaldo mansion lays the tomb of the hero.

Tejeros Convention Site

The Tejeros Convention was held on March 22, 1897. The convention paved the way to the formation of the Philippine Armed Forces. A former rest house of the friars, the place was also used for the election of General Emilio Aguinaldo as the head of the new government. The site contains the statues of the people who attended the historical convention.




Fort San Felipe

The fort was constructed in 1609 by the Spanish military for the protection of the city. The structure is made of granite blocks that stand 30-feet high. It also withstood the combat between the Japanese Imperial Army and the Allied Forces.




Andres Bonifacio Trial House

Andres Bonifacio, together with his brother Procopio, were tried by a court-martial led by Brigadier-General Mariano Noriel in the house. The house has been turned into a museum which commemorates this episode in our history. The diorama represents the significant trial scene.

During World War II (1939-1945), Filipino soldiers found a haven in the site’s vast forest and ridges.
